East Wood Builders was founded by Chris Burke, a detail-oriented contractor who states 20+ years of hands-on experience. Our shop is at 48 Fletcher Street in Winchester, and from there we work across the greater Boston area on kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, decks and porches, whole-home renovations and commercial fit-outs.
We take our craft seriously, and we would rather be the company that gets involved early and stays open with you than the one that goes quiet after the deposit. Clients describe the crew as professional and on-time, the site as clean, and the pricing as fair — and several of them have hired us three and four times over.

We photograph jobs while they are open, not just once they are styled. Stripped back to studs, then treads and a curved bottom step, then a finished flight with an oak handrail and hardwood carried through the hall. Same view, same house, real work.

Free consultation and estimate
Chris comes out, walks the space with you and gives an honest read on what the job actually involves — what the structure will take, what it will not, and what it is realistically going to cost. The consultation and the written estimate are free.

Accurate budgeting, up front
We price the work carefully rather than optimistically, and put the numbers in front of you with an emphasis on transparency, so the budget you approve is the budget the project runs to.

Stewards of the build
We get involved early and keep an open line with you throughout, working alongside your architect or designer where there is one. Think of us as stewards of the project — guiding it safely and effectively to completion.

Finished, cleaned and walked through
Nothing is called done until the detail is right and the site is clean. We walk the finished job with you before we hand the keys back — the part clients single out as “the crew kept the site clean” and “exceeded our expectations.”

Our shop is on Fletcher Street in Winchester, and most of our work sits within a short drive of it — Arlington, Medford, Woburn, Stoneham, Lexington, Melrose and Reading among them.
